I love stories. I always did.

I am a naturally curious and talkative guy. I always have been. When I was little, before I could read, I would even negotiate with my older sister to wash the dishes for her if she would read me a few more stories.

When I learned to read on my own, I already considered school useless, because I was not allowed to read what I wanted, and that is how I probably earned the title of the class nerd in primary school. I had the privilege of growing up in Bucharest, on Drumul Taberei, in the most notorious block of flats in the neighborhood, but that was not a problem at all, because I have former neighbors who became famous, regardless of the fact that they grew up in C37 (e.g. Dan Petrescu, 2nd floor and Liana Stanciu, 6th floor).

Even though my teacher, Mrs. Urzica, failed to convince me that it was worth studying, I had the chance in middle school to meet Mr. Popescu, the math teacher who gave me confidence in my abilities and, because I didn’t want to disappoint him, I managed to finish high school, the faculties of Management and Law (both with 10’s in my undergraduate theses), as well as to obtain a doctorate, for which I studied and worked in Switzerland for a few years.

In other words, I believe that if in this life you have the chance to meet just one person who gives you confidence, your life can take a different course. In conclusion, Albert Budică is a lucky man, because he met the right people, at the right time.

I like books on economics, science fiction, but also many other genres. Anyway, I read less than I would like. I’m the kind of reader who, when I pick up a book, doesn’t put it down until the end, so I need weekends to be able to think.

Sports

In my free time, I like to do sports, ride a bike, take long walks (minimum 5-7km), play with kites (kitesurfing), ski, go to the cinema. My year is divided into two: the period when I go skiing and the period when I fly a kite.

I love sports, even if I’ve gained a bit of weight lately, which in judo is not necessarily a disadvantage, since projecting a “little” about +90kg is not easy at all… 🙂
Judo is the only indoor sport that can keep me interested for one or two hours without interruption.

I enjoy going, whenever I can find time, to the Kibu Judo Club Bucharest in the Lia Manoliu Complex, and sensei Florin Moldovan is a friend of mine.

He is a man who lives for this sport and who teaches the younger generation to practice it in a very effective way, including at a competitive level.

There is a very nice team there, and the main thing you learn in judo is to fall, but also to get up quickly, without complaining. Sometimes it is hard, but life becomes more interesting if you apply this principle to other daily activities.

Work

I have been advertising online for about 20 years, and I even think I was the first to buy almost everything that the Yellow Pages could sell online, because even they didn’t understand the potential of this market at that time…

I worked for quite a while in a multinational in Switzerland, in Syngenta, the world leader in its field of activity, namely agribusiness, developing internal communication projects (intranet), I developed studies for the top management to present the conclusions in profile conferences, I created financial templates for the supervision of hundreds of millions of USD, I identified solutions for improving interdepartmental communication of an organization present in over 90 countries and with 20,000 employees, I drafted SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures) and implemented SOX clauses, until I decided that I would like to try entrepreneurship, and at that moment I discovered another life. That is, the life where you put your money on the table and make seemingly impossible things happen.

The Digital Agency SwissPlan.biz and our clients

For about 14 years, Claudia and I have been coordinating our own PR and online advertising agency, SwissPlan.biz, and thus I have had the privilege of promoting and learning from the most interesting brands in the world (entertainment – Sony Pictures, Disney/Pixar, DreamWorks Animation, BBC; automotive – Toyota, Lexus, Honda; aviation: Ryanair and Tarom, online stores: eMAG, Answear.ro; technology: ASUS, SONY, etc.).

Our communication efforts were rewarded, in 2009, with the Disney “Best Franchise Launch” Award for the PR campaign dedicated to the launch of the Disney animation “Tinker Bell” / “Tinker Bell” in Romania.
The animation “Tinker Bell” was also the first project of the “Fairy Division”, and later they launched a lot of successful animations.

Portfolio

With nearly two decades of experience, we’ve collaborated and promoted hundreds of companies, including internationally recognized brands.

Special projects: Super-Blog.eu. The creative blogging contest

In 2008 we launched a creative blogging competition, namely SuperBlog. In short, sponsors propose topics related to their activity to participating bloggers, they write articles on their blogs, then the sponsor’s representative or the delegated jury evaluates the articles and decides the winners of the allocated prizes.

I have promoted dozens and hundreds of companies in the over 10 years since the competition was launched, and here I have listed a few brands: Answear.ro, AMD, AQUA Carpatica, ASUS, Banca Transilvania, BCR, BitDefender, COLOP, COTY, Christian Tour, Delaco, Dodo Pizza, eMAG.ro, Farmec, InterComFilm, Jolidon, HONDA, La Fântâna, NH Hoteles, Nutrivita, Nemira, Paralela 45, RAO, Ryanair, Quelle.ro, Sano Romania, SanoVita, SomProduct, SONY, Swiss Solutions, TOYOTA, TAROM, Wu Xing, etc.

For me, the SuperBlog competition is an opportunity to meet extraordinary people, to learn from them, to travel and to dream that I can develop this project in other countries.

When I have time, I also write on this blog, because I consider blogging to be a kind of therapy through words. I am fascinated by people who take the time to share their life experiences on the blog, and in this community I have discovered some amazing people.
